PeerRef becomes Crossref member

PeerRef’s peer reviews will be assigned Crossref DOIs.

We’re pleased to announce that PeerRef has become a member of the Crossref community. 

We recently launched the PeerRef platform, where we publish peer reviews. The platform allows us to register DOIs for open peer reviews, which we will do with Crossref. 

DOIs are more reliable than URLs, make the peer review citable, and link the peer review to the preprint. Overall, DOIs increase the discoverability and the impact of PeerRef’s peer reviews. 

We will begin registering DOIs for peer reviews over the coming weeks.
